General Requests are available for shops on the Studio Pro plan and are perfect for clients who don’t have a specific artist in mind. Instead, they can submit a request to the shop, and your team can assign the right artist to the project.
🧭 How General Requests Work
When you turn on General Requests, clients visiting your shop’s booking page will see an “Any Artist” option listed first under Select Your Artist.
If a client selects “Any Artist”, they’ll:
Fill out the same intake form used for regular requests
Be asked which artist(s) they’d be open to working with (they can select one or multiple)
Once submitted, the request will be visible to all designated General Request Managers on your team. These team members can view the request, reply, quote, and move it forward just like any other inquiry.
If a general request comes in, you can also Forward the request to a specific artist. That will assign the request to the artist and add them to the chat so that they can view all the details and accept the request with a quote. To forward a request, hit the 3 dots next to the request and select "Forward to artist"
⚙️ How to Enable General Requests
Log in to app.getporter.io
Click your name in the top right → Manage Shop
Go to the Booking tab
Toggle General Requests ON
Click Edit next to “General Request Managers” to choose which team members will receive and manage incoming general requests
This is a great way to help new or flexible clients get started with your studio—even if they’re not familiar with specific artists yet.
