As a shop manager, you can configure default booking settings that apply to all artists in your shop. These settings ensure consistency across your team while still allowing individual artists to fine-tune their preferences if needed.
đ§âđź How to Update Default Settings
Log in to app.getporter.io
Click your name in the top-right corner
Go to Manage Shop > Booking
In the Default Artist Settings section, you can configure:
âď¸ Settings You Can Customize
Many of these settings are the same ones artists can set individually:
Appointment Minimum
Set a minimum price for all artist bookings
Max Appointments per Day
Limit how many appointments artists can receive in a day
Book Ahead Limit
Choose how far in advance clients are allowed to book (e.g., 180 days)
Book in Advance
Require clients to book with at least a certain amount of notice (e.g., 24 hours)
Client Reschedules
Choose whether to enable or disable client reschedules. When disabled, clients can't reschedule through Porter and will need to reach out to you directly.
Set how many free reschedules a client gets
Set how many days in advance a client must reschedule
Reschedule Policy: when either limit is exceeded (e.g., a client reschedules a second time when you only allow one free reschedule, or reschedules 1 day out when you require 2 days' notice), choose what happens:
Charge a new deposit (same amount as their original deposit)
Charge a flat reschedule fee
Allow a free reschedule anyway
Block rescheduling entirely
Stack Days
Encourage bookings to stack on days the artist already has appointments, helping consolidate their in-studio schedule
Stack Times
Only show clients the first or last available time to avoid awkward gaps during the artistâs day
Optionally require longer appointments to be scheduled at the start of the day
Cancellation Policy
Choose whether to enable or disable cancellations. If disabled, clients won't see an option to cancel within Porter and will have to reach out to you.
Set the standard cancellation message clients see when they pay the deposit and confirm their appointment â this helps set clear expectations around refunds and cancellation rules
𧊠Apply Settings to All Artists
When you save your changes, you'll be prompted with two options:
Apply to future users only
Apply to all existing artists
Choose Apply to all existing artists if you want to instantly update everyoneâs booking settings at once.
âď¸ Artist Customization Still Allowed
Even after setting defaults, artists can adjust their individual settings from the Porter mobile app. This lets you enforce shop-wide standards while giving service providers the flexibility to fine-tune their availability and booking preferences.
