Using the email template editor

How to use the marketing campaign email template editor through Porter

Designing a beautiful email campaign in Porter is quick and intuitive. Our drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to create stunning emails without needing any design experience.


✏️ How to Start

  1. Go to the Marketing tab in Porter.

  2. Click New Campaign and choose Email Campaign.

  3. Hit Design Content to start building your email.

On the first screen, you can:

  • Choose from your own saved templates, or

  • Select one of our pre-built templates, which already include suggested copy—just edit and send.

Or, click Create to build a new template from scratch.


🧱 Building Your Email

Once you're inside the editor, you'll see four main tabs on the right:

1. Content

Drag in content blocks like:

  • Text

  • Headings

  • Videos

  • Buttons

  • Dividers

2. Blocks

Blocks are layout sections. Use them to stack content in multiple columns or different arrangements.

3. Body

Customize:

  • Fonts

  • Background and text colors

  • Link styles

  • General design settings

4. Images

Use our built-in image library with high-quality, free stock photos—no need to upload your own.


📩 Test & Save Your Email

  1. Give your email a Template Name and Subject Line.

  2. Hit Send Test Email to preview your message.

    • Select an existing customer, or

    • Choose Manual to send it to any email address.

    • If your template includes variables (like {{customerName}}), you’ll need to fill those in to send the test.

  3. When you’re happy with the design, hit Save at the top.


✅ Apply the Template to Your Campaign

After saving:

  • Hit the Back button to return to the template list.

  • Click Apply on the template you just built to attach it to your campaign.

From there, you can continue building your audience and scheduling your campaign to send.
