Booking non-tattoo services through Porter is fast and simple for your clients — no request form or back-and-forth required. These services are booked directly, meaning clients choose their date & time and pay their deposit all in one smooth flow.
🧷 How it works
On your shop's public booking page, clients will see a "Select a service" section at the top. Under this section, all bookable services (that you've listed online) will be shown, grouped by service category:

What happens next depends on how you've configured the service — either as a Direct Booking or as Bookable by Requests.
📅 Direct Booking Flow
If the service is set to Direct Bookings, clients go through a fast, straightforward flow:
Select a service provider
Choose a date & time
Fill out the intake form (if configured for this service)
Pay the deposit (if required)
That's it — they're booked and on the calendar. No approval needed.
📝 Request-Based Booking Flow
If the service is set to Bookable by Requests, clients submit a request instead of booking directly. This follows the same flow as tattoo booking requests:
Select a service provider (or choose "No Preference")
Fill out the intake form — this is the form you've customized for this service, where you can ask for things like reference images, descriptions, or other details
Submit the request
From there:
The request shows up in your Requests queue
You or the assigned provider review the request and either accept or decline it
If accepted, the client is notified and can then choose a date & time and pay the deposit
This flow is ideal for services that need a conversation before committing to a time — like custom PMU designs, large projects, or anything with variable pricing.
🔘 General Piercing Flow
If you’ve set up a general piercing service (instead of individual piercings), clients will also choose the piercing location/type they want during booking.
This makes it easy to keep your setup simple while still collecting the info you need.
