Porter automatically sends smart reminders to your clients so they don’t forget about their appointments — and so you don’t have to chase them down.


⏰ When Reminders Are Sent

By default, Porter sends two reminder messages for every confirmed appointment:

  • 48 hours before the scheduled time (via SMS)

  • 1 hour before the appointment starts (via SMS)

These reminders help reduce no-shows and give clients a chance to cancel or reschedule with enough notice if needed. You are not charged for these SMS messages, they are included in all Porter plans by default.


💬 What the Messages Say

To view the general language of these reminders:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner

  2. Go to Manage Shop > Client Messages

❗ Appointment reminder texts cannot be customized.

That’s because Porter automatically tailors the message content based on what the client still needs to do. For example:

  • If their deposit hasn’t been paid, the reminder will include a payment link

  • If their waiver hasn’t been submitted, we’ll prompt them to complete it

  • If the appointment is still pending confirmation, we’ll nudge them accordingly

This ensures each client receives the most helpful, actionable message based on their status.


🔔 Artist Notification Settings

Artists can control their own reminder preferences inside the mobile app:

  1. Open the Porter app

  2. Go to Profile > Notifications

  3. Choose how you’d like to receive appointment reminders:

    • Email

    • SMS

    • Push Notification

    • None
