Editing a Completed Liability Waiver
If a client has already completed a liability waiver and you need to make a change — whether to update incorrect information or fix an image issue — there are a couple of ways to handle it depending on the situation.
🔁 Option 1: Replace an ID Image
If the client uploaded the wrong image (for example, a blurry photo or something other than their ID), you can easily replace it without having them re-do the waiver.
Go to app.getporter.io.
Open the appointment where the waiver was completed.
Click the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner of the appointment card.
Select “Add ID file to waiver.”
Upload the correct image of the client’s ID.
This will append the new image to the existing waiver, so it remains on file with the updated ID attached.
📝 Option 2: Have the Client Re-Do the Waiver
If the client entered incorrect information or you need a completely new waiver (for example, they signed under the wrong name or date of birth), the best way to handle it is to create a new walk-in.
From the main app, create a walk-in appointment for the client.
Once created, the client will automatically receive a text message with a new waiver link.
They can complete the new waiver right from their phone.
This ensures you have an accurate, legally valid waiver on file with the correct information.
✅ Best Practice
For compliance and record-keeping, always keep the original waiver on file — even if it contains incorrect details. Simply append the new ID image or create a new waiver rather than editing or deleting the original.
