The Walk-in Queue helps your shop handle walk-in clients in an organized way. Clients can check themselves in, complete the waiver, and add their info to your queue — making it easier for your team to stay on top of who’s next.

How Clients Check In

  • Post a QR code or share a link for clients to “check in” as walk-ins.

  • Clients fill out a short form and complete their waiver.

  • Once submitted, they are automatically added to your queue.

Tip: The QR code Porter generates is generic and not styled. For something you can post at the front desk, copy your walk-in link and use a generator like Flowcode to create a branded, shop-ready QR code.

Managing the Queue

Once a walk-in is added, you’ll see them in your queue inside the Shop Manager App.

  • Each walk-in appears in the order they checked in.

  • Use the 3 dots on the right side of a queued walk-in to:

    • View the details the client submitted

    • Assign the walk-in to an artist

    • Checkout the appointment

    • Remove it from the queue

Removing a Walk-in

The Remove from Queue option helps you clean up old or incomplete entries.

When removing, you’ll be prompted to choose:

  • Completed → Marks the walk-in as completed for $0

  • Canceled → Archives the walk-in as canceled

  • Other → Archives the walk-in

👉 Use this before a big event to clear out any old or unmarked entries in your queue.

Queue Settings

You can customize how your queue works in Walk-in Queue Settings. Options include:

  • Collecting tattoo details (location, size, color, description)

  • Collecting client’s preferred artist(s)

  • Choosing when the waiver is completed (at check-in vs. after an artist is assigned)

  • Allowing artists to pull from the queue themselves

If you enable the last option, artists will see a queue icon on the calendar page of their mobile app. Tapping it lets them view all queued walk-ins and assign clients to themselves.

Artist View in the Mobile App

When allowed in settings:

  • Artists see a 3-person queue icon on the calendar page.

  • From here, they can:

    • View the current queue

    • Assign a client to themselves

✅ That’s it! With the Walk-in Queue, you can streamline how your shop handles walk-ins, keep things organized, and give clients a smoother check-in experience.
