â Step 1: Enable Virtual Consultations
From the Porter mobile app:
Go to your Profile tab.
Tap Virtual Consultations.
Toggle ON âEnable virtual consultations.â
Paste your Zoom or Google Meet link into the field provided.
đĄ This link will be used for all your virtual consults. We recommend creating a reusable meeting link (like a personal meeting room) to keep it simple.
đ Step 2: Choose Virtual or In-Person When Scheduling
Once virtual consultations are enabled, you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether a consultation will be in-person or virtual.
When you schedule a consultation (from the mobile app):
Tap the â icon on your calendar.
Select Schedule Consultation.
After entering the client details and time, youâll see a toggle for:
In-Person
Virtual
Choose Virtual if you want the consultation to take place over Zoom or Google Meet.
When the consultation is booked, the client will automatically receive your meeting link via text along with the appointment confirmation.
đ What the Client Sees
When you schedule a virtual consult, clients will:
Receive a confirmation text with the appointment date/time.
Get the virtual consultation link to join the call when the time comes.
Theyâll be able to click straight into the meeting from their phone or computerâno extra steps required.
âïž Tips & Best Practices
Name your link clearly (e.g.,
meet.google.com/yourname-tattoos) so clients recognize it.If you use Zoom, make sure you donât have a waiting room enabled unless you plan to admit each client manually.
Use the notes section during scheduling to include any pre-consult instructions (e.g., âPlease be in a well-lit space with good receptionâ).
Thatâs it! đ Youâre ready to offer virtual consultations and make your pre-appointment flow smoother than ever. If you have any issues setting this up, reach out to [email protected] and weâll help you out.
