How to edit your calendar and availability
Step 1: Navigate to your profile
Make sure you have version 1.1.1 of the app or newer. If you do, you can click the "Profile" button in the bottom right. Then, you'll want to click on the new "Availability" button.
Step 2: Decide what you want to edit between these 4 options:
- Availability Settings - How long do you want your books open for?
- Weekly Hours - What are your standard weekly hours in your primary location?
- Day & Time Blocks - Easiest way to block time that you cannot work, without having to change your standard hours.
- Trips & Guest Spots - Plan a trip to any city or studio and allow your clients to book via Porter.
Availability Settings:
Every artist has unique ways that they like to manage their calendar. In an effort to accommodate everyone, we started with a "Book Ahead Limit". This allows you to open your books on a rolling X days basis, meaning whatever number you input here will allow the customer to book with you X days in advance of whenever they click on the booking link.
For example, today if I input 30 days, then a customer who goes to book with me today will see availability 30 days from now. If they go to book with me tomorrow, they will see available 30 days from tomorrow.
Weekly Hours
In the weekly hours section, you should input the days and times you generally prefer to work at your primary location.
You can always change these if your days/hours are changing, but you should only change these when they are changing going-forward (not just for one week or day at a time).
Day & Time Blocks
This is where you should block any time that is typically within your weekly hours if you cannot schedule an appointment during that time. Planning a vacation? Kids birthday party? Travel Day? etc. This is the place to block that time.
These blocks take priority over any weekly hours or trips and will need to be deleted if you no longer need them.
Trips & Guest Spots
Using this section, you can schedule a trip in a different city or at a different studio/location and set your days/hours for that trip.
If you schedule a trip, when a potential client goes to book with you, the first question they will be asked is "What city do you want to schedule in?". After you accept the appointment, they will only be shown the days and times you are available in whichever city they selected.
